The trading calculator helps you estimate the cost of a trade before you place it. Three calculators are available here: a commission and break-even calculator for shares on the exchanges we execute on, a margin and leverage calculator, and a profit and loss calculator for MetaTrader 5 instruments — forex, metals, commodities, indices, shares and ETFs — in each instrument's own quote currency.
Commission and breakeven calculator
The breakeven price is the selling price at which you recover your capital with neither profit nor loss: “buy side only” covers the purchase commission, while “buy and sell” covers the commission on both entry and exit. Enter a sell price to see the sell commission, the total commissions and the net profit or loss at that price. Figures are estimates for illustration; they exclude taxes and third-party charges and may differ from the actual invoice.
Margin & Leverage Calculator
Select an instrument and enter your trade size and expected price to estimate the notional value and the margin required to open the position — shown in the instrument's own quote currency and in its USD equivalent.
The margin shown is an estimate, calculated as notional value ÷ leverage — or notional value × the fixed margin rate for shares and ETFs. The actual figure depends on the execution price and the margin rate applied to your account when the position is opened, and it excludes commission, spread and swap charges.
Profit & Loss Calculator
Enter your entry and exit prices and the direction of the trade to estimate the price move and the resulting profit or loss — in the instrument's quote currency and its USD equivalent. The result excludes commission, spread and swap charges.
The result reflects the price move alone. It excludes commission, spread, swap charges and taxes, and does not account for slippage on execution or market opening gaps.
Disclaimer: The calculators on this page are illustrative tools that work on the figures you enter. Their results are not an offer, a commitment or investment advice, and may differ from your actual account statement. The contract specifications window inside the trading platform is the definitive reference for each instrument and its margin requirement, together with the commission schedule on the fees and commissions page. Leveraged trading carries a high level of risk and may result in the partial or total loss of your capital; make sure you fully understand the risks before trading.
